Nails are appendages of the skin. Though they are “dead,” brittle nails are a sign of a nutritional deficiency. Additionally, nails may also become weak from constant wetting of the nails, hormonal imbalance, or underlying health conditions.
Surprisingly enough, the color and texture of the nail may indicate the overall wellness of someone.
To improve the look and feel of brittle or unhealthy nails, try consuming a healthy diet, using a moisturizer on the hands, wearing gloves when dealing with chemicals, regular manicures and pedicures, and using quality nail products to help improve this condition.
